Major refurbishment of Walter House, located on the corner of Bedford Street and The Strand, to create a new 56 bedroom boutique hotel under the Nadler Hotels brand.
Although primarily focusing on the conversion to a hotel use (C1), retail use (A1) on ground and basement level will continue to be maintained throughout the development, as well as providing a dentist’s office (D1 use) at basement level on Bedford Street.
Planned alterations to Walter House include the infilling of an internal lightwell, the removal of an escape stairs to the rear, the installation of new balconies to the rear facade, as well as the demolition and rebuild of the facade of 50 Bedford Street.
This project will see an increased and higher quality level of design brief and performance specification, which needs to implemented with strict budgetary control, and a necessity to generate savings while not losing any of the quality finishes expected by the client.
