Extensive redevelopment of an existing period property as a family home. The completed building includes a double basement incorporating a gym, two sunken terraces, cinema, pool and wine cellar. The client’s collaborative architectural design included exposed concrete finishes, architectural metalwork and bespoke lighting. A constricted site with several local stakeholders means planning and site management were key to the project success. Additionally, unauthorised UKPN cabling was identified on site which impacted the basement dig early on; a temporary strategy was developed to reduce programme impact.
